CG Animation for Arena Breakout


"Silver Scale Kiss – Medusa" is a character PV (promotional video) for the mobile game Dark Zone: Breakout. The character is drawn from Medusa, the figure of the same name in Greek mythology. In the PV, she wields a sword alone within an imagined temple, defeats her enemies, and finally ascends the throne. The PV's theme is the Renegade — one who betrays the gods.

The most widely known version of the Medusa myth tells how she was cursed for betraying the temple of Athena, ultimately transformed into a snake-haired Gorgon. Building on this version, we offer an extended reinterpretation of the myth: Medusa chooses to forsake the gods, using her own formidable power to defeat her enemies and complete the awakening of her soul.

In Greek mythology, the snake is often seen as a symbol of the "self-devourer" and of "eternal recurrence." The PV borrows this imagery as its narrative through-line, carrying the motif of the "snake" and its transformations across the entire visual structure — evolving from an initial golden texture into the cold, intricate mechanical serpent that adorns Medusa, symbolizing her self-metamorphosis and her ever-growing power.
