YETONG XIN|RERANER                        ALL PROJECTS                       ABOUT                          REEL

In today's society, the boundaries between the virtual and the real are becoming increasingly blurred, with the two becoming inseparable. How does the virtual world infiltrate reality and profoundly alter our perception and experience of it? This question not only influences our understanding of identity and space but also reflects the complex and dynamic nature of contemporary life.

The construction of virtual worlds is an extension of human creativity and, at the same time, a response to reality. It provides a way to detach from the physical world while also carrying emotions and experiences rooted in reality. As the virtual world increasingly integrates into everyday life, its impact on self-perception and the way we experience reality is becoming more evident. Through my work, I seek to explore how the virtual world intersects with reality and how this intersection affects individual identity and perception.

In my practice, I use digital media such as 3D animation, projection, and immersive visuals to embed the virtual into physical spaces. For example, architectural projections transform buildings from mere physical structures into components of a virtual experience. When physical spaces are overlaid with virtual imagery, their inherent properties are disrupted, creating a meeting point between the virtual and the real.

Through this, I aim to guide viewers into experiencing identity shifts between the two realms, breaking the constraints of everyday reality. By constantly shifting between spaces and identities, viewers are encouraged to re-examine their relationship with themselves and others through virtual interactions.
