Humanoid Illusion is an experimental digital video artwork that explores the relationship between humans and their digital counterparts. This piece employs motion capture technology and is optimized with artificial intelligence. The collected human movement data is transformed into 3D-rendered digital dancers, which are endowed with simulated effects that are difficult to achieve in the physical world.
By showcasing these digital dancers that both reflect and simulate human actions, the artwork aims to examine the contrast between humans and nearly-human entities. It prompts viewers to reflect on their own identities, using these AI-enhanced digital figures as mirrors. It encourages contemplation on the potential for humans to momentarily transcend their own realities through interaction with lifelike yet non-human creations.
